ABOUT US

Edgebrook Cider takes its name from a 75 year old family orchard in the heart of the Hawke’s Bay apple-growing district.  Over the years, Edgebrook Orchard has grown all manner of pipfruit but now it is dedicated to apples.  The latest arrivals are old English cider apples with names like Kingston Black, Tremlett’s Bitter, Broxwood Foxwhelp, Knotted Kernel and Yarlington Mill.

We at Edgebrook are passionate about cider.  We understand that good apples come from well-cared-for trees and the best-flavoured apples are those allowed to fully ripen on the tree so we don’t rush things at harvest time.  We also take our time during cidermaking, using the frosty Autumn mornings to keep fermentation slow and steady.  Our apple varieties are fermented separately so that we can evaluate the qualities of each batch and then they are carefully blended to give just the right balance of acid, tannin and residual sweetness for each of our ciders.
